Influenced by classical painting, tattoos, and comics . . .

Nathan Catlin (b.1984) is from California and moved to Brooklyn, NY in 2009.  Influenced by classical painting, tattoos, and comics, Catlin’s work deals with human relationships, cause and effect, and morality. He works primarily in a graphic black and white palette using composition, space, and size to bring the viewer into the visual worlds he creates.  He studied fine art at SFAI and Columbia University where he focused on printmaking, drawing, and painting.   His work has been show both nationally and internationally.  He currently works at the Leroy Neiman Center for Print Studies as the Studio + Project Manager.
