In my current body of work, imagery personally encountered in the Midwest and Southwest has been most of my content; specifically as this imagery literally or poetically points to an opaque infrastructure of dispersed networks that surrounds and sustains us. While I live in a city and have spent most of my time painting there, I also spent summers at my grandparents’ house where they have restored the land through conservative burning. Here I painted and found strange imagery on the periferia of rural Midwestern/Southwestern America. Many of these strange sightings were of fringe military activity.
