Anatoli Lapushner has been in the furniture repair and restoration business for most of his life, having studied inlays, carving and design at art school in his native Russia. Insiders say Lapushner has a unique niche restoring antique globes, and also repairs upholstery. In fact, he’s comfortable with just about any material except metal and glass. Established in 1987, his firm has six full-time employees who were all trained by Lapushner himself. All work is done in his 6,500-square-foot workshop in Brooklyn.
